Be prepared for the careers of tomorrow
Your military experience counts. Not only will your military service reward you with educational assistance, but your training in the armed forces may also allow you to take college-level equivalency exams that may help you test out of taking classes in subjects you already know-saving you valuable time and money toward earning your degree.
VA Education Benefits
If you are a veteran and would like to use your education benefits to fund your education with CollegeAmerica, simply visit the military education specialist at your campus and you'll be on your way.
Programs at CollegeAmerica are approved by the State Approving Agency to participate in the GI Bill/VA education benefits program. If you are a veteran or other eligible person, CollegeAmerica will help you through the process to ensure that you receive all benefits for which you qualify.
Using your VA education benefits with us is simple; just bring your Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD-214) to your campus military specialist. If you have already applied to use your benefits, you may also bring in your Certificate of Eligibility (form 22-0557). Your campus military specialist will help you fill out all of the necessary applications and forms to get started. For more information about how to use your GI Bill education benefits, call an enrollment advisor today at 1-800-622-2894.
If you are a VA student, you will first need to pay for the entire program out of pocket, or apply for financial aid. Once you complete your course in the allotted time, you can collect full-time pay reimbursement from the VA. Courses are certified monthly, and the amount of your reimbursement from the VA is based on the time it takes to complete your course or training. The VA will pay you directly once your certification is submitted and processed.
For more information on the GI Bill/VA benefits, call the VA at 1-888-GIBILL-1 (1-888-442-4551) or visit their website at www.gibill.va.gov. This page also provides information about eligibility requirements for the different benefits available, including MGIB, Top Up, DEA, NCA, and more*.
*Chapter 1607 benefits: At this time, there is little information available on how Chapter 1607 benefits will work. Those who are now eligible and/or participating in chapter 1606 should visit the GI Bill website regularly at www.gibill.va.gov for updates and information on this new program.
